Why Do We Need Regular Dental Check-Up And Clean Every 6 Months?

- To detect diseases, abnormalities and early signs of decay.
- To reduce problems of oral health.
2. Deep Cleaning
When your gums have been infected by gum disease (also known as periodontal disease), there may be deep gum pockets around the affected gum areas. These deep gum pockets often trap plaque (a film of food on the teeth) and tartar (hard and sticky form of plaque) on the root surface of the teeth.
Even though you make extra effort to keep your gums and teeth clean by thorough brushing and flossing daily, the deeper parts of the deep gum pockets often still have plaque and tartar which need a professional deep clean. The deep clean usually includes :
- Full Oral Examination
The dentist will do a thorough check regarding your oral health and will discuss the treatment plan if needed. - Applying Numb Gel
Prior to giving Local Anesthesia, The dentist will apply numb gel to make patient feel more comfortable. - Cleaning
Using both manual and the ultrasonic-scaling to remove the plaque and tartar build up from the deeper parts of the affected gums.
The Duration for This Treatment
4x Visit : Each visit for 30 minutes
Why Do We Need Deep Cleaning?
- The deep cleaning procedure may need to be done initially to help reduce the gum infection. Once the deep cleaning is completed, the gum health may be maintained by general cleaning and supplemented by deep cleaning as needed in the future.
- Deep Cleaning is recommended for those who have gum disease or periodontal issues. A deep cleaning is usually done per teeth quadrant (from 4-8 teeth per session) under Local Anesthesia.
