Orthodontic Assessment
Orthodontic assessment can be done at any age and at any time that either the child or parent have concerns about the appearance or alignment of the teeth.
Most dental alignment issues such as excessive or inadequate spaces for permanent teeth are treated when the child has a full set of adult teeth. This usually occurs when the child is about 12-13 years of age. In cases of more severe malalignment of teeth, the child may receive early orthodontic treatment during the mixed stage of baby teeth and adult teeth, so that the malalignment of the teeth are less severe once all the adult teeth are in the mouth.
Our dentists would advise the parent regarding the best time to consult an orthodontist.
